The primary purpose and authority of the Tribal Gaming Commissioners regulatory functions are to enforce and administer the provisions that are pursuant to the following: Tribal Gaming Ordinance, all Tribal and Federal MICS, Tribal Gaming Commission Rules & Regulations, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, the regulation of Class I, II, III and non-gaming licenses within the jurisdiction of Shoalwater Bay Tribe, in accordance with IGRA of 1988, 25 U.S.C. §2701-3721 (1988).
The Shoalwater Bay Tribal Gaming Commission is primarily responsible for the oversight of Class I, Class II, and Class III Gaming and licensing; adoption, approval and enforcement of all regulations applicable to Gaming Operations, Gaming Facilities and Gaming Activities as defined in IGRA and the Tribal-State Compact but does not have management responsibility for Gaming Operations or Gaming Activities. The Tribal Gaming Commission is autonomous, non-partisan and non-political. The Tribal Gaming Commission is free to regulate in an independent capacity.
