Summary

The Barista is expected to work at the Tribal Coffee Shop and Gift Shop serving the community and interacting with the public in a professional manner.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Gift Shop patrons
  • Make and serve quality beverages such as coffee, tea and specialty beverages
  • Clean and sanitize work areas
  • Receive and process customer payments
  • Uphold high standards of customer service and ensure guest satisfaction
  • Keeping all supplies stocked
  • Keeping track of inventory and tracking order supply list
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues and scheduling repairs
  • Reporting maintenance needs

Qualifications

Experience and Eduction

  • High School Diploma, or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a coffee shop is required.

Skills

Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:  Basic mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and must remain insurable under the Tribe’s policy, or obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Must have a Washington State Food Handler Card.
